daisy
Searching only for faults
They witnessed only fissures
So they trembled
Fear begot suspicion
And doubt razed morality
As mere ideas tore down pillars
Simple words undid the fabric of the skye
They trembled at the sight of seams
Cowering beneath duvets
Drowning in nightmares to come
Orators held filibusters
Though their lips stumbled
And their voices quaked
Faith in their fear
Became their damnation
There were tremors sure
And darkness to be seen
However, salvation was imminent
Ignorance gave way to sacrifice
Suicide and more shadows
It wasn't the end of their world
Just the end of a drought
Something they knew nothing about
So they shook with terror
Even when the drops fell on their skin
