Part 1:
I thought they left
It was just an unexpected siesta
I thought we were done
We were just raw
I thought this was hell
It was too high
And they were too deft
Part 2:
I'm just a neophyte
Who would dare challenge the primes
They wish to cast me out
And leave me razed as an outcast
They have me chasing an anesthetic
As I peer through the window pane
Jealous of the warmth in the night
Part 3:
Watching the flames dance
I mistook trembling from shock as warmth
It's not the ledge that strikes fear
Instead it's the wish to see the bottom
At some point their insistence is greeted with acceptance
As I jump while being thrown
I am now become the dark demon
